Who are we:
The Aboriginal Support Circle Online group is for OWN members who are not able to attend face-to-face meetings and for those who live further afield. The group discusses books by First Nations writers, events and other issues of interest.
What we do:
The aim of the Aboriginal Support Circle is to study the history, customs and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to spread this knowledge amongst associates and friends so that a better understanding and appreciation of Indigenous people could be gained.
When we meet:
We meet monthly every second Wednesday at 12 noon on Zoom to hear indigenous speakers. In April our speaker was Thomas Mayo, March it was Champley and in February Tammy Carney Wright. Each session has been most interesting. Our speaker in May will be Fiona Harrison.
