The Invasion Day rally in Boorloo / Perth was subject to a hateful and racist attack – as a man threw a home-made bomb into a crowd of Elders and children, First Nations activists and allies. This was a clear attempt to terrorise, injure and even kill members of our community.
Every day, First Nations people have to fight for our safety, for our lives and our loved ones. Too often, it feels like we are fighting alone. Right now, we need our allies to speak up with us: for safety, freedom and justice.
The Federal government just passed new laws against hate speech. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke is responsible for putting these laws into action.
